Bawden & Ravilious pair
So quintessentially English, we are so pleased to have found this charming pair by two of our favourite artists, Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden.
The artist’s studio by Ravilious depicts Edward Bawden at work. It’s a wonderful original offset litho print from 1930 with so much to admire: the ochre walls, the grand baroque mirror, the rolls of drafts, the concentration on the artist’s face…the cat on the rug.
‘Dolls at home’ by Bawden is a vintage print of the original lithograph which Bawden prepared from a collage. It became part of the series commissioned by the J. Lyons & Co for their teashops.
They come in a pair, newly framed to be displayed together. 32.5cm x 29cm.
